CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An officer with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Officer Ana Mora Terrero, has been arrested and is currently facing an investigation. The CMPD has initiated an inquiry that led to her arrest after detectives secured a warrant for charges of simple assault following a voluntary interview with her.
Officer Mora Terrero voluntarily presented herself to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. While she is on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the internal investigation by CMPD Internal Affairs, it’s noted that she was not on duty during the incident in question. Mora Terrero has been employed by CMPD since February 2024. In a statement, Chief Estella D. Patterson expressed concern over recent incidents involving CMPD personnel, emphasizing the department’s commitment to accountability.
