Wegmans Set to Open in Ballantyne Next Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The grand opening of Wegmans in Ballantyne is just around the corner, happening next Wednesday, and excitement among local residents is at an all-time high.

The supermarket is finalizing preparations at its new site and is working diligently to ensure that its fresh produce and grocery aisles are fully stocked for the anticipated rush. Beyond offering traditional grocery items, Wegmans aims to be a community hub with features like hot foods, sushi, and subs. Additionally, the store has plans to collaborate with local food relief organizations, such as Nourish Up and Feeding Charlotte, to provide unsold food to families in need. Store manager Patrick McGuinness stated, “What makes us a great place is being family owned and operated… it’s the people inside that make Wegmans what it is.” Approximately 450 employees will be part of the Ballantyne location.
